Goldfoot Ydna: Matching with Assyrians
Our Q1b1a Y haplogroup or (Q-L245) is found to have matches with Assyrians from the land between Turkey, Iran and Iraq of the Mesopotamian basin. They are mostly Christians.
Q's are referred to as Q(M-242). We are a subclade of that and are mostly a Jewish line.
Assyria had attacked the 12 tribes of Israel in 722 BCE and took most of the 10 tribes but not Judah, which was the largest tribe. The kingdom of Israel had come to an end. They had been captured by Sargon who annexed the country and deported 27,290 Israelites to Assyria and Media and replaced them with Syrian and Babylonian prisoners. In time, Assyria declined and was succeeded by Babylon.
It looks like our Q line could have come from one of the lost tribes who wound up in places like Persia (Iran), Afghanistan, Khazaria, and then worked back to Iraq and Eretz Yisrael and had rejoined with other Jewish groups.
